Afar Pastoralist Development Association, APDA, and an Austrian Support Organisation for Non-formal Needed Education, SONNE-International, plan to construct 20 large double brikuts and 4 sand dams in Erebti, Eli Daar and Dagaba (Dubte Woreda); implement hygiene awareness by all means - health workers, musical band, film, soap etc; change Logya from dirty to clean through 15 latrines + mass mobilization + establishing a rubbish disposal system.

To finance this big project, SONNE-International has requested a fund of 600,000 Euro from the European Commission that will pay 75% of the budget; Austrian Development will pay 15% and the remaining 10% must come from the applicant somehow. SONNE-International says they cannot raise more than 5%. Herby APDA appeals to the Afar Diaspora to engage themselves in this project trough contribution of the remaining 5% of the 600,000, which would be 30,000 Euro over 4 years, i.e., 7,500/ year.
